Floradix Iron and Vitamin Tablets

Floradix Iron Tablets provide organic iron, B-Vitamins, vitamin C, folic acid and strengthening herbal extracts. It helps support blood formation after a loss of blood, they are also used during pregnancy or nursing during the years of growth and development. 

Why iron is so important during pregnancy and breastfeeding: 

Iron is essential for the transport of oxygen between the mother and her foetus as well as providing the baby with sufficient iron stores for the first few weeks following the birth. Iron is also essential for foetal growth particularly for normal brain development and to help prevent maternal anaemia. As more iron is needed to form red blood cells. It is difficult to meet this extra demand through a balanced diet alone and so it is often recommended that women take an iron supplement from week 13 or even earlier.

 Women are usually advised to seek the advice of their GP or midwife before taking supplements.
